Man charged with causing January road death

A Warwick man has been charged with causing the death of his friend in what was the Island’s first fatal road accident 2014.

Bryan Daniel, 23 of Ridgeway Lane, did not have to enter plea when charged with dangerous driving which caused the death of 22-year-old Nikko Robinson-Woodley, a mechanic with Marine & Ports on January 4.

Daniel also faces an alternate count of causing the death through careless driving.

Mr Robinson-Woodley was in a car which was travelling on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton Parish, shortly after 2am which went out of control and struck a tree just east of the junction with Paynter’s Road.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the defendant on $10,000 bail with one surety.
