A husband and wife have teamed up to open a new commercial law firm in Hamilton.

Megan and Simon Benedek unveiled Benedek Lewin Ltd, which opened its doors for the first time on Monday in offices on the third floor of the SE Pearman Building on Par-la-Ville Road.

The couple aims to specialise in banking and finance, corporate and commercial law and investment funds.

CEO Megan Benedek said: “Benedek Lewin’s objective is to provide its clients with a first class service and to unlock the potential of Bermuda to individuals and businesses around the world.”

When asked why she thought now was a good time to open a new law firm, Ms Benedek said: “I believe in Bermuda and the people of Bermuda.

“We intend relentlessly to promote Bermuda, its resources, its infrastructure and its intellectual capital, all around the world.”

She added: “We believe that Bermuda is a great place to do business from and offers facilities and services which set it apart from other offshore jurisdictions.

“We want to be involved in, and become part of, the success of Bermuda and to be ambassadors for Bermuda all around the world.”

Ms Benedek, who specialises in commercial litigation and trusts, will be joined by her husband, Simon Benedek, an experienced banking, finance and corporate lawyer.

Also joining the team is retired Lieutenant Colonel William White, who brings accounting and leadership expertise to the firm, along with years of experience working and living in Bermuda.
