Lovit Boutique is to close its Queen Street store next Saturday.

However, owner Jenia Thompson said yesterday that the three-year-old store had plans to reopen in the near future — possibly within a year.

Lovit has one full-time employee, Ms Thompson said last night. In a statement, Lovit said: “Downsizing will allow Lovit Boutique to focus solely on providing fashionable work and special event options as dictated by the needs of its local clients.”

This week, all items will be sold at discounts of between 50 percent and 75 percent, Ms Thompson told The Royal Gazette. She added: “I will definitely miss our location in Windsor Place and have big plans to reopen the store with a renewed focus on bringing in trendy yet classic clothing and jewellery lines.

“I thank everyone who has supported the store over the past three years. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all my Lovit customers. I hope to see you again very soon.”

Asked about the timing and location of the reopening, Ms Thompson said: “I’m hopeful the reopening will happen within a year with the location still to be confirmed.”
