Man denies assault

A Sandys man charged with assault was granted bail in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Troy Harris, 23, of Broome Street, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Darronte Dill in an increased penalty zone and thereby doing her bodily harm on January 23 in Sandys.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released the defendant on $2,000 bail.

Mr Harris will return to court for trial on November 18 with a mention on August 28.

• Also in Magistrates’ Court, Psalms Williams, 37, of Curving Avenue, Pembroke, pleaded not guilty to assaulting David Dill and thereby doing him bodily harm on July 30 in Pembroke.

He did, however, plead guilty to damaging Mr Dill’s reading glasses which cost $600.

Mr Tokunbo released the defendant on $2,000 bail for trial on November 14 with a mention on August 29.
