Biker unhurt after vehicle blaze

A biker narrowly escaped injury yesterday after his motorcycle burst into flames.

He was driving when he saw smoke coming from the vehicle, so pulled over near the junction of South Road and Middle Road in Paget.

After getting off the bike it caught fire, destroying the cycle and damaging a nearby building.

Four firefighters attended the blaze just after 3.30pm.

Service spokeswoman Russann Francis said “the vehicle was reported to be engulfed in flames”.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
