Bermudian ‘died of a heart attack’

A Bermudian man who died in the Dominican Republic suffered a heart attack, according to the country’s police.

National Police General Franciso Romer Lopez said that John Johnston, 42, died suddenly in Costambar in the city of Puerto Plata.

Local media said an examination by the area medical examiner confirmed that Mr Johnston, who was found in his holiday apartment, had died of heart failure.

The report added that Mr Johnston had arrived in the Dominican Republic on Thursday, August 7 and was due to depart on Friday, August 15.
