The trial of a man charged with sexually touching a 12-year-old girl has been adjourned until October.

The 30-year-old, who cannot be legally identified, has denied two counts of sexually exploiting a girl under the age of 14 in an incident which occurred in February 2011.

Magistrates’ Court previously heard evidence from the victim, who testified that the defendant touched her during a party at a family member’s house, but defence lawyers suggested that the story she told the court differed from what she told police.

The trial had been set to continue yesterday, but the matter was adjourned until October with the defendant being again released on bail.
