Dear Sir,

I would like to send a big thank you to head coach Mr Leo Richardson, boxers Tyler Christopher and Reyal Bowen and everybody else at the New Controversy Boxing Gym in Hamilton.

My wife Lisa (nee Gibbons), son Patrick and myself have just returned to England after visiting family on the Island.

Patrick is a registered amateur boxer in the United Kingdom, with Spire Boxing Academy in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and was given the chance to learn and train at Controversy.

Mr Brian Purvey at the International Sports Shop helped us to track down the gym and we were immediately made to feel at home.

My wife and son are both Bermudian and I used to teach at Harrington Sound School and Mount Saint Agnes.

Mr Richardson gave Patrick some excellent coaching and his knowledge and enthusiasm were inspiring.

Reyal Bowen and Tyler Christopher provided great sparring and their dedication and talent will take them far.

Another highlight was the opportunity and privilege to meet the great Clarence Hill; he was a proper gentleman and very interesting to talk to.

Again, a big thank you to Leo and all at Controversy. Hope to see you all again soon!
