Lawyer Assault Man Remanded in Magistrates’ Court

A 59-year-old man appeared yesterday in Magistrates’ Court accused of assaulting a female lawyer.

Steve Symonds, of Sandys, was not required to submit a plea because the charges are indictable and must be heard in the Supreme Court.

He is accused of assaulting lawyer Georgia Marshall as they left the Supreme Court on Thursday, with the intent to do her grievous bodily harm.

Ms Marshall is a leading specialist in family and matrimonial law and a director at Marshall Diel and Myers.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded him in custody. He will appear again on September 12.
