What are the primary goals and objectives of your position?

Promote and drive visitors to Bermuda mainly through travel agents and tour operators. This involves identifying and prospecting business opportunities for B2B (Business to Business) and B2C (Business to Consumer).

How do you go about accomplishing those goals & objectives?

Partnership is key! Maintaining consistent communication with our internal and external partners is essential. Making regular sales calls to corporate and leisure clients, and participating in or attending trade shows and events is also a big part of my role. As well as joint initiatives with Bermuda Hotel Partners to promote product updates, current promotions and events.

In line with the objective of driving air arrivals upward, I continue to promote Bermuda for a year round destination and highlight the distinct tourism hubs.

Describe a typical day

A typical day infrequently exists as a BDM. The day may begin with a two-hour drive to conduct Sales Calls in Westchester NY, prospecting for new business opportunities, responding to e-mails, educational sessions and data entries. My day may also include attending an evening trade show or networking function.

What prepared you for the role you have?

First, I thank God and my family who continue to support and encourage me daily. The beginning of my hospitality career at Elbow Beach prepared me to appreciate the importance of Tourism for Bermuda. Also, my tenure of 14 years with BDOT which prepared me for the various experiences and challenges in sales.

How is your success measured?

My success is measured by the visitor arrival reports; confirmed groups or consumer bookings data received from my personal portfolio of clients.

Who is integral to your success at work?

Our energetic BTA Sales & Marketing Team. We all link together to achieve and execute the objectives.

Why did you join the BTA team?

I joined the BTA Team to remain a contributing ambassador for Bermuda. My drive and passion will support the rapid growth of our Tourism Industry.
