The headteacher of Saltus Grammar School has declared herself “thrilled” with her students’ IGCSE results this year.

Claire Charlemagne said 122 students in years ten and 11 at the private school sat the exams and all achieved A* to G passes.

Fourteen students received four or more A* grades, with the highest achiever being Mahir Wagh, who got nine A* and one A qualification. Mahir also achieved an A at AS level, the first stage of the A-level examination.

Harshith Kayam and Linda Amaral both notched eight A* and one B grade, while Cathal Rynne got seven A* grades, two As and one B and Dylan Muldoon got seven A* grades, one A and one B.

Other students who did well included: Tyler Irby (six A*, two A, one B); Sofia Montarsolo (five A*, five A); William Liam Peniston (seven A*, two A); Elizabeth Parsons (six A*, one A, five B); Zoe Wright (six A*, one A, three B); Mira Hartwig (five A*, four A); Alex Decker (four A*, five A) Gianluca Cacace (four A*, three A, two B); and Kelsey White (four A*, two A, two B).

Ms Charlemagne said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the IGCSE results. Our students and teachers worked very hard and their efforts were rewarded with these outstanding results.

“I would like to congratulate the students for the tremendous effort they made and I would thank the faculty for their hard work and dedication.”

She said Saltus had doubled its percentage of A and A* grades since 2010.

Bermuda High School recently reported a 100 percent pass rate for A* to G grades in its latest GCSE exams, while Warwick Academy achieved a 99.7 percent pass rate.

At BHS, 97 percent of students who sat the exams received five A* to C grades, including maths and English.

Warwick has not yet reported on its A* to C pass rate and Ms Charlemagne said Saltus was not yet in a position to do so either.

In the UK, five passes of between A* and C, including maths and English, are required for many jobs and further education courses.
