Cruise ships back on schedule

It’s service as normal in Dockyard this week with the return of the Norwegian Breakaway and the Celebrity Summit.

Both liners were forced to abandon their Wednesday arrivals last week due to the approaching Hurricane Cristobal.

But the cruise ships and their combined passenger load of over 6,000 visitors descended on the West End yesterday morning.

The Breakaway and the Summit will depart Bermuda tomorrow and be replaced by the Vision of the Seas later in the evening.

It’s the Vision’s third and last trip of the 2014 cruise season, and she is scheduled to leave the Island on Sunday afternoon bound for Charleston.

Making up the cruise arrivals for this week is the Norwegian Dawn, which makes her 18th trip to the island from Boston on Sunday.

Meanwhile the Bermuda Islander rumbles into Hamilton tomorrow morning with her cargo of 73 containers and 27 refrigerated containers.

And the Oleander will be the last arrival of the week when she pulls into the capital on Sunday afternoon from New Jersey.
