Church gives thanks after Back to School event

Back to school, with thanks: The Seventh-day Adventist Church has saluted donors after handing out more than 200 schoolbags, plus groceries and uniforms, to families in need for the start of the new school year

As the Island’s students returned to school this week, the Seventh-day Adventist Church issued thanks to donors and volunteers who contributed to its back-to-school distribution campaign.

A total of 208 backpacks and 106 bags of groceries were given out, along with a number of school uniforms, to needy families — on August 17 at the No 1 Gate in St David’s, and on August 31 at the Somerset Seventh-day Adventist Church

The church’s Adventist Community Services team thanked sponsors Butterfield and Vallis, BGA Wholesale Distributors and the Bermuda Land Development Company Limited, as well as Frigga Simmons and the Bermuda Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and its members.
