Every student in Mount Saint Agnes Academy’s graduating class has received the Alberta High School Diploma.

Principal Sue Moench yesterday praised her students’ “great accomplishment”.

“We are very pleased with our students’ results and are proud of their success,” she said. “This was only the second year that MSA has been an Alberta-accredited international school.

“For 100 percent of our students to achieve this standard — up from ninety-seven percent in 2013 — is a great accomplishment and testimony to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students.”

MSA incorporated the Alberta education programme in 2009 and was fully accredited as an Alberta International School in 2012.

The curriculum begins in kindergarten and runs throughout a student’s school years, with high school seniors collecting the diploma on graduation.

Achievement Tests administered by Alberta were also completed by students in grades 3, 6 and 9 for the first time during the past school year.

“The results of these tests were outstanding, surpassing the rigorous Alberta standard across the board,” said Ms Moench. “They are a strong indicator that our inquiry-based approach to learning is becoming well-rooted.

“As we start our 125th anniversary year, we are confident that our academic excellence and rich tradition of Catholic values will continue to be reflected in all our graduates.”
