Schedule changes made to T20

The Lindo’s Twenty20 match between Bailey’s Bay and Cleveland County has been brought forward to tomorrow from Sunday to accommodate the promotion decider between Cleveland and Western Stars.

Another match has been moved to next Thursday because of that play-off match, with Southampton Rangers taking on Western Stars at Somerset Cricket Club.

Cleveland, the new Eastern Counties champions, have a busy weekend, facing Bay tomorrow before taking on Stars for the right to play in the Logic Premier Division next season.

Cleveland avoided automatic relegation when they beat St George’s last weekend to move off the bottom of the Premier Division standings, sending St George’s back into the First Division.

With the league schedule completed, the T20 competition will dominate the next couple of weekends, with action starting tonight at Somerset, where Tuff Dogs of the Evening Cricket League will play PHC in their second group B match.

Five more matches are scheduled for Sunday, including a double-header at Somerset, where the home team will play two matches, against PHC at 11am and then against Willow Cuts at 3pm.

In other action on Sunday, Somerset Bridge will play Southampton Rangers at White Hill Field and St David’s host Devonshire Rec at Lord’s. Three double-headers will take place next weekend at St David’s, Sea Breeze Oval and Somerset with Flatts meeting Devonshire Rec and St David’s; St George’s playing two matches against Cleveland and Bailey’s Bay and Willow Cuts taking on Tuff Dogs and PHC.

Those matches, along with Somerset Bridge against Western Stars, will mark the end of group matches and determine the semi-final line-up for Lord’s on September 27 when the four group winners will advance.

The final will take place the following day at Somerset which signals the end of the 2014 season. The Bermuda Cricket Board awards ceremony is scheduled for October 4.
