Hurricane no longer a threat

A hurricane which may have posed a threat to the Island has been downgraded.

Hurricane Edouard on Saturday was listed as a potential threat — but forecasters said it was now likely to pass well east of Bermuda.

But a spokesman for the Bermuda Weather Service said: “It is still being closely monitored.”

The storm — expected to be a Category 3 by tomorrow — is anticipated to have its closest point of approach 408 nautical miles east of the Island around 3pm tomorrow.
