Hodsoll goes deep to lift Bay
Bailey’s Bay defeated their Eastern Counties rivals by two wickets and with two balls to spare on Saturday.
Bay went into the final over by Darrell needing nine runs to win and Kyle Hodsoll hit a six on the fourth ball to secure the win.
Hodsoll hit two sixes and a four in his 21 while captain Rodney Trott was high man for Bay with 34 after coming in at No 3. Stephen Outerbridge was dismissed in the first over before David Lovell and Trott put on 34 for the second wicket.
Courtney Trott claimed two for eight and Allan Douglas two for 18 for Cleveland
Cleveland, playing with ten men as left-arm seam bowler Damali Bell, Dennis Musson and Jason Anderson were all missing, posted 116 for eight in their 20 overs with Douglas, opening with Damon Rabain, scoring 23 and Treadwell Gibbons 22 in the middle order.
Aaron Adams scored 17 off two sixes and a four and Shakai Darrell 16. Medium-pace bowler Tre Govia was the pick of the Bay bowlers with two for 19.
