Two people were injured in two separate road accidents over the weekend.

A 25-year-old Hamilton Parish man was taken to hospital on Sunday after a motorcycle and a car crashed in St David’s.

The injured man was riding his bike along Tommy Fox Road at about 1pm when he collided with a car being driven along the same road.

The accident happened at the junction with The Sink Road and both vehicles were damaged.

The injured man was later discharged from hospital.

A 32-year-old Sandys man was injured on Friday after a truck and jeep collided on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road.

The accident happened at about 2.45pm near Five Star Island and traffic was delayed while the jeep was towed away.

The injured jeep driver was treated in hospital but later discharged.

Both vehicles were damaged but the truck was driven away after the accident.

Meanwhile, four people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving at the weekend as part of the ongoing Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP).

Officers also arrested 15 people for outstanding warrants and carried out liquor licence checks at various premises across the Island.
