Cancer care charity PALS has proclaimed September 26 its third annual Mad Hair Day for anyone looking to stand out while raising­ money for a good cause.

Wigs, hats and scarves are among the suggestions, but anything “wacky or wild” qualifies — along with a $5 donation per participant, plus registration with PALS.
