Fundraiser in memory of popular chef

Tomasz Tabor died in February in a single-vehicle traffic accident

The First Tomasz Tabor Memorial Golf Tournament and Raffle, in memory of the late Tomasz Jussi Tabor, will take place on Monday, one day after what would have been Tabor’s 37th birthday.

Tabor’s two main passions were cooking and golf. As a result, funds raised from the tournament will be directed to the Bermuda Golf Foundation and funds raised from the raffle will be given to the Bermuda Hospitality Institute to begin a scholarship in Tabor’s name.

The funds will be directed to assist with development programmes, as the late chef was known to many as a great teacher.

He wanted to share his skills, to help others to develop theirs and was always ready and willing to offer advice or guidance.

The tournament will be held at Tucker’s Point Golf Club, beginning at 1pm with a shotgun start. There will be prizes for the top three teams, as well as for the longest drive and closest to the pin. A Chevrolet Spark 2014 is being put forward by Rayclan as hole-in-one prize.

The tournament will be followed by a reception, awards presentation and raffle draw at Rumbar in Hamilton from 6pm to 9pm.

There will be a cash bar, with all proceeds being donated to the charities, and complimentary canapés.
