Decliners dominate week’s trading

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange declined 12.78 last week, closing at 1,387.39 on Friday.

The value of trades was $862,839.86 with 282,581 shares changing hands.

Bank of NT Butterfield saw the largest number of shares trade at almost a quarter of a million, a total of 235,444, and ended the week at an unchanged 1.99.

Somers Limited was also unchanged after 1,000 stock traded, closing at 14.50 on Friday afternoon.

Bank of Butterfield Preference Shares were among the decliners after 243 traded, finishing the week at 1,160.00 — $3.00 down.

The insurance sector also saw declines with Argus Group Holdings Ltd down 0.15 after 900 shares traded closing at 4.00. Some 10,437 BF&M shares traded finishing at 18.00, down 0.50.

BAS also ended the week a decliner at 3.20, down 0.01. Some 500 shares had changed hands.

In the utilities sector both traders were down with Ascendant seeing 20,500 shares change hands, closing at 6.10, a decline of 0.05, and KeyTech shares was down 0.50 at the week’s end after 13,800 traded.
