Man denies crack cocaine charge

A 47-year-old man has denied having more than $5,000 worth of crack cocaine and planning to sell the drug.

Trevor Simons, of Warwick, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court this morning to being in possession of 15.98 grams of cocaine worth an estimated $5,350 in Warwick on July 15, with intent to supply.

He also pleaded not guilty to being in possession of 1.03 grams of cannabis on the same date, plus a silver metal grinder for use with a controlled drug.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner set a trial date of December 9 and released Mr Simons on $20,000 bail with one surety.

He was ordered to surrender his travel documents and report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday between 8am and 8pm.
