Beach Bash surpasses audience target

X Factor band:AKNU

The charity Family Centre’s annual Beach Bash fundraiser has surpassed its target of 500 guests, with 530 seats reserved for tonight’s show on the sands of the Fairmont Southampton Ocean Club Beach.

The Bash, which marks its fifth year, is bringing 2013 X Factor songsters AKNU to Bermuda, along with locals Working Title as the backup band, plus De Onion Patch Crew, and Ronnie Lopes and the Secrets Band.

The reception will be opened by a solo from Sarafina Durrant, for a show devoted to supporting the Island’s children.

“We are excited to have attracted our target number of attendees,” Family Centre executive director Martha Dismont said. “It shows the commitment in this community to support programmes that support our youth.

“One of the most appealing aspects of the Family Centre Beach Bash is that it is one of the last beach parties of the summer with casual dress and it brings so many people together in a relaxed environment. The location celebrates the unique beauty of Bermuda and raises funds to assist children — a combination that surely is a win-win.”
