BSX flat as BF&M gains

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was virtually flat for the week, after Ascendant Group Ltd and Argus Group Holdings Ltd fell, while BF&M Ltd climbed.

BF&M closed the five days of trading at $18.75, having moved 75 cents, or 4.2 percent higher during the week, as 3,307 shares traded.

Fellow insurer Argus slipped five cents, or 1.3 percent, as 70,000 of its shares changed hands.

Ascendant, the parent company of electricity company Belco, suffered the biggest decline, dipping 35 cents, or 5.7 percent to a 52-week low of $5.75 on the trading of 9,700 shares.

Butterfield Bank traded heavily, as 54,693 of its shares changed hands, but it remained on $1.99.

The Index gained 1.23 points, or 0.08 percent, to close the week on 1,388.62.

Volume topped 141,400 shares, while turnover exceeded $521,000.
