Breakaway makes final visit of the year

Norwegian Breakaway: Making its 22nd and final visit of the year to Bermuda today

The Breakaway sails into the West End today for the last time in 2014.

Norwegian Cruise Lines’ biggest and newest liner, along with her 4,000 passengers, has already completed 21 journeys between New York and Bermuda this season.

Today’s arrival will mark her 22nd trip of the year.

The vessel, which spent her inaugural season of 2013 on the Island, will be back in Bermuda again next year.

She is due to arrive in Dockyard at first light for her usual two-night stop.

And she will be joined by the Aidaluna in the West End later in the morning,

The Aidaluna is only in town until 5pm when she will drop lines and head off for Nassau.

These two liners are the only cruise arrivals this week as the season continues to wind down.

Meanwhile the tanker Gizem Deniz Sultan is slowly chugging her way back to Bermuda to deliver fuel for Sol.

She is currently expected to arrive at the Oil Docks in St George’s on Friday morning.

Finally all three container vessels are in Hamilton this week.

It’s a special week for the Somers Isles as she completed her 1,000th trip to Bermuda.

The ship will head back to Florida today and be replaced by the Islander on Thursday morning.

Last but not least the Oleander is expected to steam into Hamilton at around 3pm on Sunday.
