Top round for Leseur

Cordeiro finished fourth in the Blue Tee division

The Bermuda Junior Golf Association’s season continued last Saturday with the weekly play this week at the Riddell’s Bay Golf and Country Club.

There was nothing ordinary about ten-year-old Kenny Leseur’s round however, shooting a fantastic round of four-over-par 74 from the red tees — his best score ever at Riddell’s Bay.

Leseur’s round included two birdies, two bogeys and two double bogeys. Alex Withers-Clarke was second in the Red Tee division with a score of 94 and Ethan Sousa was third with what is believed to be his personal-best score of 103. Spencer Young was the sole nine-hole participant and finished with 60.

The Blue Tee players will need to keep an eye out for young Leseur in the near future, as they struggled a bit on Saturday.

Alex Mason cobbled together a fair round after a quintuple bogey at the 1st hole, playing the remaining 17 holes in six over for a score of 81. That was good enough to hold off the rest of tightly bunched field, with Kheary Swan, Dakota Lamb and Brady Cordeiro following on 85, 87 and 88 respectively.

Play continues this weekend at the Tucker’s Point Club and then all focus will shift to volunteering for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf next week.
