Governor urges residents to stay safe

Governor George Fergusson has urged the public to stay safe and keep off the roads after Hurricane Gonzalo.

He encouraged residents to heed the advice from the Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO), which will offer updates on 100.1FM.

“I have been very impressed by the work done in the last few days by the EMO, chaired by the Premier, in preparing for Gonzalo, while still organising the tidy-up after Fay,” Mr Fergusson said.

“I wish everyone all the best for the next 24 hours. Good luck — and look after each other.”
