Tax deadline extended until Friday

Those owing taxes that were due on October 15 will be given a deadline extension without penalty until the end of this week, The Office of the Tax Commissioner stated this morning.

“In consideration of the impact of Tropical Storm Fay and Hurricane Gonzalo, all tax returns which were due by October 15, 2014 will be processed without penalty if received by end of day on Friday, October 24, 2014,” the statement reads.

“Since tax day fell between both TS Fay and Hurricane Gonzalo, the deadline has been extended to October 24, 2014 to allow all taxpayers to file returns and pay taxes due without incurring a penalty.”
