On the field, pitch, court and track

CedarBridge Academy remains focused from year to year in athletics as we begin the pre-season off with the rugby tournament. Also, as we begin the season off with our netball and football teams.

On September 19, the CBA rugby team went out and gave it their all but was unfortunately defeated and was unable to make a win. Elected captain, Cedric Ennis states “We hadn’t started training or fitness and our team consists of many freshmen, but being undefeated in the year 2013, I’m looking forward for team building and a lot of training to regain that status.”

On October 8, the U16 girl’s netball team defeated BHS 17-7 with goal scorers, Demiqua Daniels and Dannorri Robinson while the O16 girls vanquished BHS on October 9, 2014 28-11 with goal scorers Keizhari Knight and Shondenae Woods-Bell.

In ladies 6 aside football, with two teams CBA (A) and CBA (B), an unfortunate turn of event for CBA (B) when they were knocked out by BHS in penalties and was unable to move forward to the semi-finals.

On the other hand CBA (A) made it to the finals against Berkeley and was defeated 3-0, taking second place. Goal keeper, Micah Pond articulates “I think we did well. Our passes where really good and we played as a team until the last game.”

Consequently, glory appeared across the field when the U16 and O16 gentlemen came home from their game with a double win!

O16 boys won against Warwick Academy 3-0 with a hat trick from Antione Seaman while the U16 boys won against Berkeley 3-0 with goals from Jahkeylo Burgess, Jameko Mallory and T’ai Williams, both in the finals.

There are bright beginnings at CedarBridge Academy, with our athletes of excellence.

Encouragement and praise to each one as they strive to achieve success.
