Belco workers are continuing to reconnect houses left in the dark by Hurricane Gonzalo and Tropical Storm Fay, after numbers surged during the week with rains causing a number of poles to short out.

As of today, Devonshire was the worst-hit, with more than 700 customers out of electricity.

There was a total of 3,683 Belco customers without power, but Belco crews will be working on power restoration throughout the weekend.

Locations currently being tackled include: Shark Hole Hill, Valley View Crescent, Henry’s Hill, poles at Khyber Pass, Suffering Lane, Tribe Road No 1 at Hungry Bay, Highland View, Harlem Heights, Ramgoat Hill, Jennings Land, the branch line at John Smith’s Bay, two transformers along North Shore at Store Hill, three transformers at Cottage Hill, Mill Reach Lane, Third Avenue off Shelton Road, Crestwood Crescent, Bluck’s Point, Ingham Vale, North Shore Road near Vaucrossen Crescent, Clarence Dale Drive, Khyber Heights and the branch line off Khyber Pass, and Witchery Lane.

Separate teams are dealing with commercial customers without power.
