The public flocked to Clarien Bank this morning to take advantage of the reforestation project

The Bermuda community responded tremendously to today’s reforestation sapling donation by Clarien Bank, which allowed residents to select one free native and endemic plant to help restore the island’s unique landscape damaged by the recent storms.

Clarien initially offered 100 Bermuda Cedar, Palmetto and Olive Wood saplings to be planted, but increased the offering to 200 to accommodate the overwhelming response. All 200 plants were donated within the first 40 minutes of the event.

“We admire the courage and resiliency of the entire community and thank everyone in joining us in the commitment to help make Bermuda green again,” said Michael DeCouto, Clarien’s chief marketing officer.
