Belco: Report your outages

Belco crews at work

Belco is asking customers without electricity to contact them as restoration efforts continue.

As spokeswoman for the company said this afternoon: “With only a small number of customers still without power, Belco is asking everyone who does not have power yet to phone 955 to report your outage.

“Please use the 955 automated system, putting in your phone number to record the outage. If you cannot leave an automated message, please speak to the Operator. We are doing this to ensure that we have captured all individual outages in our Outage Management System.

“We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and the patience of all of our customers throughout restoration after two storms. We are especially grateful for the support shown to our crews, including the CARILEC crews who continue working through long days and nights to restore power Island-wide.”

As of 3pm today, 172 Belco customers remained without electricity as the company continued to work through weeks of repairs.

The breakdown by parish is as follows: Pembroke, 15; Paget, 34; Devonshire, 35; Warwick, 26; Southampton, 23; Sandys, five; Smith’s, 20; Hamilton, three, and St George’s, eleven.

The utility company’s last estimate was for power restoration to be completed hopefully by early this weekend.

The Royal Gazette will add updates to this article as they are received throughout today.
