New Genesis Church hosts conference

Today

New Genesis Church will continue its Queens Quarter’s Conference at Fairmont Southampton today. Evette Young, of God’s Royal Women Ministries in New Orleans, and Pastor Shanelle Burrows from West Pembroke Pentecostal Assembly will take part in the event. Tickets are $35. Tomorrow

Mt Zion AME Church will celebrate the tenth anniversary in ministry for Pastor Jahkimmo Smith at 5pm. The special service will mark Rev Smith’s ten years as a pastor and five years as the pastor of Mt Zion.

November 5

Mt Zion AME Church will host three events under the theme: Sisters touching the heart of God (through prayer, worship and service). On Wednesday, November 5, there will be a worship experience at 5.30pm, while on Saturday, November 8, there will be a prayer breakfast. The event will conclude on November 9 with another worship service at 10am and 3.30pm. Guest speaker will be Rev Cindy Carr Rudolph, the Assistant Minister at Mt Calvary AME Church in Towson, Maryland.

November 7

St David’s Chapel of Ease Guild will host a ‘Homemade Soup and Roll Take Out’, featuring seven soup varieties. The fundraising event will be held in the Chapel of Ease School Room, from 4pm until 7pm. Soup costs $5, while dessert is $2. For information contact 297-3535.

Cobbs Hill Methodist Church in Warwick will host a free puppet ministry workshop today and every other Friday in November. The workshop is open to people age ten and up.

November 8

Annointed Steps Dance Ministry School will present its 2014 recital presentation New Beginnings Bring Change on November 8. There will be two shows a matinee at 3.30pm and evening show at 7.30pm - both taking place in the New Berkeley Cafetorium. Tickets, $25 for children, $35 for adults and $50 for patrons, are available at the dance school, located in the Old Berkeley, or by calling 292-2014.

Women Aglow Int will host a fellowship worship service at Astwood Hall, Church Street, Hamilton. Pastor Dwayne A Simons of Praise Palace Church of God of Prophecy, Curving Avenue, Pembroke will be the speaker. The service starts at 9.30am and will be followed by light refreshments. November 9

Marsden First United Methodist Church will hold a celebration service. The service, featuring guest speaker Rev Dr Joseph F Whalen Jr, will take place at the Cleveland County Cricket Club at 10.30am. A buffet lunch will follow.

November 11

Centenary United Methodist Women is holding its annual Christmas Tea and Sale from 2pm to 5pm. The event will take place in Stephenson Hall, at the corner of South Shore and Collector’s Hill, Smith’s. It includes the sale of baked goods, plants, gift items and a popular afternoon tea. Organisers encourage people to come out and meet old and new friends, with a cup of tea and an afternoon of fellowship.

November 30

Echelon International will hold Bermuda’s first a cappella competition, Joyful Noise! at 7pm at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium. The night will be one of inspiration and fun. Tickets, $50, can be purchased online (www.BDATix.bm) or by calling 232-2255.

Bethel AME’s Women’s Day Celebrations will commence with two special services at 11am and 4pm. The guest speaker will be Rev Conitras Houston Moore from Greater Ward Chapel AME Church in Columbus, Georgia. The theme will be Jewels of the Kingdom: Empowered Women Embracing Lost Souls. There will also be lunch served for $15.

Cobbs Hill Methodist Church will hold a special Sunday puppet ministry performance featuring The SOLID Rock Puppet Ministry at 9.40am.
