Cannabis documentary airing tonight

Canada’s Adam Scorgie, one of the producers of The Union

A one-hour documentary exploring the politics and history underlying cannabis prohibition, edited for local television, will air tonight on ZBM after drawing intense local interest this week.

Bermuda viewers can see the cut of Canadian documentary The Union: the Business Behind Getting High, directed by Brett Harvey, at 8pm.

Rights to the documentary were obtained by local facilitators LTD Bermuda (Learn, Think, Do), which has also created the website www.ltdbermuda.com, as a forum for “free thinking and discussion on our world and our liberties”.

In a statement to The Royal Gazette, LTD said local responses to the documentary had been universally positive.

“ZBM have been very gracious — a lot of people may not have had cable or electricity due to the storms. The time has come to look at the consequences of war on drugs policies which have not borne any fruit.”

The condensed version of The Union will appear tonight on cable Channel 9. The full documentary, which includes an extra 45 minutes, is available on YouTube.
