Sandys man on cannabis charge

A man allegedly caught with $250,000 worth of cannabis has appeared in Magistrates’ Court accused of possession with intent to supply.

According to prosecutor Susan Mulligan, 11 pounds of the drug were seized, along with a white, rock-like substance still being analysed.

Clienty Butterfield, 35, of Woodlawn Road, Sandys, was not required to enter a plea, as the charges were indictable only and must be heard in Supreme Court.

Mr Butterfield was charged with two counts of possessing cannabis with intent to supply on October 30, as well as having vacuum-sealed plastic bags intended for use in the preparation of a controlled drug.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo gave bail of $15,000 with a like surety and ordered him to return to court on December 3 for mention.
