A 23-year-old man seriously injured in a motorcycle crash is no longer in a critical condition.

Police said this afternoon that he was now stable, although he remained in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The patient, from Smith’s, was hurt in an accident on Middle Road, Southampton, near the juntion with Lighthouse Road, at about 7.10pm on Saturday.

No other vehicles were involved.
