Fire safety week launch

Firefighters will throw open the doors of their stations to the public this week as part of efforts to educate the community about safety.

Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service’s Fire Safety Awareness Week opens today and will be officially launched by Michael Dunkley, the Premier and Minister of National Security, at the Service’s headquarters on King Street at 10am.

This year’s theme is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives, Test Yours Today” and there will be a focus on promoting fire safety in the kitchen.

Advice on the proper use of fire extinguishers will also be offered and there will be a series of public events to raise awareness about fire safety.
