Dillas and Haddrell retain title

Jarryd Dillas and William Haddrell and Ebonie Burgess and Elizabeth Parsons retained their respective men’s and women’s titles at the Bermuda Amateur Four-Ball Championships which concluded yesterday at Port Royal.

It was the fourth successive titles for Dillas and Parsons.

Dillas and Haddrell won by a massive 12 strokes over second place finishers Steven DeCosta and Mark Ray and were never threatened during the 54-hole tournament as they carded scores of 64, 69 and 67 to lead throughout and finish with a gross score of 200.

DeCosta and Ray shot 212 from rounds of 67, 74 and 71 as Dillas and Haddrell widened their lead on the final day.

Tied for third were Richard Neame and Andrew Yates and Jevon Roberts and Mark Phillips who finished on 214.

In the Ladies Championship flight, Burgess and Parsons won by a margin of 16 strokes over runners-up Linda Down and Tracy Burgess after shooting rounds of 73, 75, 76 to finish on 224. Down and Burgess shot 78, 85 and 77 to finish on 240, five strokes ahead of Donna Jones and Sylvia Tavares on 245.
