Government is discussing a possible insurance discount for struggling residents, Michael Fahy, the Home Affairs Minister, told the Senate this morning.

The hint emerged during Senator Fahy’s review of grocery discounts, which was touched on in the Throne Speech.

“We are in discussions with insurance companies in respect of what they might be able to do to help individuals in need,” Sen Fahy said. “Hopefully, we will have a positive announcement in the coming weeks.”
