Dispose of your e-Waste on Saturday

Electronic waste can be disposed of responsibly at Tynes Bay Waste to Energy Facility on Saturday.

The public is encouraged to bring old electronics to be recycled, including small appliances powered by batteries or power cord. Acceptable items include household air conditioners, monitors, televisions, keyboards, cellphones, printers, copiers, typewriters, laptops, stereos, radios and satellite receivers.

In 2012-13 the Waste Management section of the Ministry of Public Works recycled 127 20-foot shipping container loads of recycling, exporting 77 container loads to the United States recycling market and reused 50 container loads of crushed glass in local construction projects.

All recyclable materials including e-Waste are sent to US Environmental Protection Agency-approved recycling facilities.

The e-Waste drop-off will be from 9am to 5pm at the Tynes Bay facility on Palmetto Road, Devonshire.
