Woman of Faith: Nikita Robinson in a file photo with her children from five years ago. Mrs Robinson shared with Religion about how her faith keeps her motivated and encouraged in touch times

Nikita Robinson has one of the most recognisable voices on the Island.

That’s because if you’re not hearing her on her daily radio show programme, The Ladies Room, on Hott 107.5, you’re probably listening to her at one of her high profile gigs emceeing at community and charity events.

In her spare time, Mrs Robinson is a busy wife and mother and loyal member of Radnor Road Christian Fellowship.

The Royal Gazette asked her to share with us a little more about her faith. Here’s what she said:

Q: What led you to God?

A: I was hurt. I had lost my way and wanted wholeness and knew that only he could provide it. I was saved and baptised at 12, somewhere along the way I got lost and then rededicated my life when I was 26.

Q: What’s your spiritual calling?

A: At this moment I’m an encourager, but I’m also whatever God wants me to be when he calls me, because I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I refuse to put limits on God and therefore on me.

Q: What encourages you when you’re having a down day?

A: Oh my gosh! God’s word! We have this declaration at RRCF that I’ve committed to memory and when I’m feeling attacked I recite it out loud to myself, especially when I’m driving. That’s step one [to recite it]. Step two is God’s word in song, so I will either listen to a song or sing a song to God. Step three, I call my mom or best friend.

Q: How do you want to be remembered?

A: That she loved the Lord and it showed.

Q: What’s the best Christian book you’ve ever read?

A: Purpose Driven Life, Pastor Rick Warren. It’s a 40 day spiritual journey, which shows you how all the pieces of your life fit together and it answered one of the most important questions for me, ‘Why the heck, am I here on this earth?’ It taught me that I’m not an accident, that I have a purpose and what I am created for. In a nut shell, the book is about letting God use you for his purposes, not using him for your own purpose. Rick Warren writes: ‘You were made by God and for God — and until you understand that, life will never make sense’.

Q: What’s your favourite verse in the bible?

A: ‘Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and then glorify your father in heaven.’ That’s found in Matthew 5:16. (I tend to remember the words but forget where it’s located. LOL)

Q: What’s something you’re most thankful to God for?

A: Eternal life. I end my radio show programme by telling listeners ‘I love you to life’ (meaning eternal life).
