Trio honoured at lunch

Honoured: Jeremiah Andrade, Emma Harvey and Jessie Daba

This year’s Warwick Academy Universal Day of The Child, Youth Citizen Award winners are Jessie Daba, Year 6 for Primary, Emma Harvey, Year 9, for Middle, and Jeremiah Andrade, Year 12, for Secondary.

They were invited to attend a luncheon sponsored by the Government of Bermuda’s Ministry of Community, Culture and Sports, and the Department of Child and Family Services. The luncheon was held at the Fairmont Southampton Princess.

The students were nominated by their peers. In order to be nominated, students had to exhibit the qualities of; kindness, forgiveness, helpfulness, acceptance of others, and standing up for the right of others.

The Mistress of Ceremony was Patrina “Powergirl” Paynter, with a special musical performance by West End School Choir, winners of the last school choir competition. Wayne Scott presented each of the 41 students from Primary, Middle, and Secondary Schools across the Island, with their plaques and certificates.
