Event raises $8,000 for DC trip

Tournament winners: Terrance Corday, Jordan Desilva, Steven Drake and Tim Davis

On Sunday November 16, 2014 CedarBridge Academy’s National Honors Society (NHS) hosted a Golf Tournament at Belmont Hills Golf Course in aid of their upcoming trip to Washington, DC and the Lupus Foundation.

A total of 16 teams of four turned up for the event that lasted from 12.30pm to 7pm. The teams played a total of 18 holes with special challenges like “Beat-the-Deputy” on hole number 9, where the winner was given a gift certificate and a chair donated by Dunkley’s.

On hole number 11 where “Closest-to-the-Pin” was held, whomever drove the ball closest to the pin on the green won dinner for two at Tucker’s Point.

On hole number 4 was the straightest drive, where a round of golf at Tucker’s Point was awarded and lastly $10,000 was given to whoever got a Hole-In-One.

The overall winner of the golf tournament was team number 11B with Terrance Corday, Jordan Desilva, Steven Drake and Tim Davis scoring 58.

In second, with a score of 59, was team number 10 with Leroy Burch, Glen Basden, Jerome Bradshaw, and Keith Trott. Team number 3, also known as “Team Snap Dears”, placed third, also scoring 59, with Camiko Smith, Kim McCallam, Wendy Trott and Brian Larzleer.

At the end of the day, the National Honors Society was able to raise $8,000 towards their trip and in aid of the Lupus Foundation.
