An impressive 16-under par 55 has given Hidden Valley Golf Course a two-shot lead in the Junior Team Competition (Net) of the Bermuda Goodwill Pro-Am. Overnight leaders Riverside Country Club B, who had a six-shot cushion going into the second round, could only manage a net eight-under 63 at Mid Ocean Club, and at 27-under are just a shot ahead of the team form Port Royal, who followed up their first round 58, with a 57, and lie third with a 26-under 115 from the two days.

Playing at Mid Ocean in their second round, Hidden Valley’s day was built on the back of a net 11-under round of 59 from Scott Luscavage.

Team-mates Scott Koerbler, at one-under, and Fred Lesher with a one-over 71, added to the score, leaving their team on 29-under at the halfway stage.

Terry Hatch, the Hidden Valley professional, dropped into a tie for second in the Junior Stableford Division, after his four-over 75 gave him 15 points, and 38 overall for the two days.

Hatch is joined on 38 points by James Ondo, of Apawamis Golf Club, and Ben McFaul, of Lampton Golf Club E.

The trio trail GW King, of Georgian Bay Golf Club II, who scored 22 points at Mid Ocean yesterday to move on to 40 points for the two rounds.

Only five points separate the top five junior professionals, with Zach Johnson, of Riverside CC, on 37 points, and Chris Smith, the Bermuda professional playing with the Par 5 Club, on 36 points.

In the Senior Team Competition (Net) Bellewood Golf Club lead on 23-under, following their round of 11-under 59 at Tucker’s Point, while Lampton Golf Club E and Nassau Country Club are in a tie for second with a two-day total of 20-under.

Ted Griffin, the overnight leader in the senior professionals Stableford Division, held on to top spot with 18 points at Riddell’s Bay, but he is now in a tie for first with Danny Mijovic, from Kings Riding Golf Club, whose 22 points at Tucker’s Point propelled him up the leaderboard.

Scott Spence, of The Lakes Golf Club, is tied for third with Dwayne Pearman, from Port Royal, with 36 points.

Things are close at the top of the women’s competition, meanwhile, with Hi5 Golf and Riddell’s Bay tied in first place at 16-under.

Just two shots separate third and fourth with Lampton Golf Club F on 15-under and Weston Golf Club fourth at 14-under.

Jen Jaszek, the Hi5 Golf professional, made her round at Port Royal Golf Course count, moving to within one point in the Stableford competition after her 18 points put her on 31 for the two rounds.

Karen Nicoletti clings to a slim lead on 32 points, with Megan Chapman, of the Georgian Bay Club I, three points back in third.

The players get a rest day today, with play resuming tomorrow at Riddell’s Bay, Port Royal, Mid Ocean and Tucker’s Point.
