Evening of Carols at Peace Lutheran Church

Celebration of Christmas: St Mark’s Anglican Church will be hosting seasonal events

Saturday

Peace Lutheran Church will hold an Evening of Carols at 7pm. They will be singing old and new Christmas songs and welcome the community to attend. The church is located on 154 South Road, opposite the Botanical Gardens in Paget.

Author Karla E Trott will host a book signing for her poetry collection Spiritual Jackets, at Bookmart (Brown & Co) from 1pm until 3pm. For more information e-mail karla.trott@yahoo.com or phone 332-0057.

Women Aglow Int invites you to its fellowship worship service at Astwood Hall, Church Street, Hamilton. The meeting, which begins at 9.45am, will be led by guest speaker Maybelle A Denwiddie, co-pastor of New Creation Worship Centre, Middle Road, Devonshire. Light refreshments will be served. St Mark’s Anglican Church will hold its annual ‘Christmas Tree Festival’. The trees have been decorated by local civic groups and organisations. The church will also have a bake sale, a ‘soup & roll’ lunch and entertainment throughout the afternoon.

St Mark’s Anglican Church will be open to the public for its ‘Celebration of Christmas’ service at 6.30pm. The church is located at 51 South Road in Smith’s.

Next Thursday

Bright Temple AME Church will join with Cedar Hill Salvation Army Band to host the Songs of Christmas Community Event. It will take place in the church yard, located on Spring Hill, Warwick, at 7.30pm.

Next Saturday

Marsden First United Methodist Church will present ‘The Live Nativity — The Birth of a King’, a live re-enactment of the birth of Jesus. The event will take place at 4.30pm at the Cleveland Country Cricket Field in Harrington Sound in Smith’s. Guests are encouraged to bring their chairs and blankets. There will be free hot chocolate and hot apple cider. (If raining, the event will be rescheduled on Sunday, December 21.)

Inter-Island Communications will host its second annual gospel concert at 7pm at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for Performing Arts. It will feature 2014 Bermuda Idol Olivia Hamilton, Calvin Busby, Janice Pearman, Tricay, the Vernon Temple Praise Team, the Richard Allen AME Young Adult Network Praise Team, the Agape Faith Kingdom Ministries Praise Team, the Restoration Ministries Seventh-day Adventist Praise Team, The Five Keys and Bermuda Soul recording artist Kaelyn Kastle.

Tickets go on sale on Monday at 27th Century Boutique, Music Box and the HOTT 107.5 and Magic 102.7 studios.

Next Sunday

Calvary Gospel Chapel, located on Middle Road, Southampton, will host ‘Casting Call’ at 7pm. The production will explore the true meaning of Christmas, through drama, music and the arts. For more information phone 234-3250 or e-mail: info@calvary.bm.

St Paul AME Choir (under the patronage of Randolph Hayward) will present an evening of choral music and readings of the Christmas season.

The Christmas Concert, featuring guest artists Arielle Crosby (Soprano), Tyler Jacob Hill (Bass-Baritone), Jarrett O’Neal (Tenor), Tislam Swift (Tenor) and The Warwick Academy Ensemble, will start at 6pm.
