BSX falls 0.5%

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell more than a half per cent last week as three domestic-board stocks fell and only one gained.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd made the biggest move, sliding 75 cents, or 25 percent to close the week on $2.25, as 10,300 shares traded.

Ascendant Group Ltd, owner of electricity company Belco, slid 40 cents, or 6.9 per cent, to $5.40 — a new 52-week low — as 14,100 shares changed hands.

Telecommunications firm KeyTech Ltd also fell, shedding ten cents, or 2.7 per cent, to $3.60, as 3,500 shares traded.

BF&M Ltd was the sole gainer, climbing ten cents, or 0.6 per cent, to close the week on $18.10, as 4,400 shares traded.

The index fell 7.24 points, or 0.53 per cent, to close at 1,363.32 on Friday. Bermuda Stock Exchange share volume topped 315,000 during the five days and turnover was more than $824,000.
