The Progressive Labour Party Deputy Leader David Burt is celebrating the birth of a daughter.

Senator Diallo Rabain announced the news during the motion to adjourn in the Senate today, with everyone in the Chamber congratulating Mr Burt and his wife Kristin on their new arrival.

Mr Rabain said he had received word of the baby only moments before.

Mr Burt’s daughter has been named Nia Imani Burt, according to the PLP’s Facebook page.
