Chain Reaction delivers kindness

Spreading kindness: Principal Ms Kalmar Richards and Chain Reaction Advisor Ms Natasha Butterfield with 11 students who visited the Ministry of Education

In a demonstration of appreciation and an effort to spread kindness to the hard-working staff at the Department of Education, 11 CedarBridge Academy Chain Reaction students, Chain Reaction Advisor Ms Natasha Butterfield and principal Kalmar Richards travelled to St David’s to deliver goodies and a card.

The gifts were delivered to the Finance Department, Human Resource Department, and Accountability Department, Permanent Secretary, Student Services, Secretary Staff and other members of the department.

Upon arrival, the students were greeted by the Acting Commissioner of Education Dr Llewellyn Simmons, Dr Freddie Evans and Dr Rydell Tankard. The staff were ecstatic, explaining that in all their years of operation, they had never received such a token of appreciation.

They also said that seeing the students doing something so positive made their day.The students wanted to remind the staff at the Ministry of Education that their hard work does not go unnoticed and to thank them for all that they have done for the public school system.

This group of students are part of the CBA Chain Reaction Target Letters Team whose goal is to target groups of people either inside of school or in the community on a monthly bases. This month’s target was the Department of Education and next month the CedarBridge Target Letters Team will focus on the cafeteria staff at CedarBridge, helping them serve lunch and wash dishes.

The student leaders of the Target Letters Team are Precious Perinchief and Aalyah Cole, and the teacher advisers are Ms Butterfield and Mr Dean Minors. Chain Reaction is a movement throughout schools in Bermuda with the aim to spread compassion and kindness.
