Aon gives $6,000 in toys, food, gifts

Insurance brokers Aon and their staff have rallied to donate more than $6,000 to charitable causes in time for Christmas.

This included the Toys for Tots programme, dedicated to bringing Christmas toys to needy children, as well as Meals on Wheels and Agape House.

Toys for Tots, which this year aimed to get 500 toys, received popular gifts such as Barbie Dolls, fishing rods and remote control cars.

The presents, which go to children from newborn to 15 years-old, were loaded onto a truck and delivered to the Coalition for the Protection of Children.

Aon’s donations also provided Meals on Wheels with Christmas dinner turkeys and others items, while Agape House received sundries such as coffee, lamps, soaps and shampoo for their clients to use.

Christy Corbett, an employee of Aon who has been helping out with Toys for Tots for the past three years, said she was privileged to take part again.

“Everyone is so busy this time of year running around buying gifts for their family and friends that we forget about those in need,” she said.

“It is such a privilege to be able to help out with this programme.”
