Rev Betty Furbert-Woolridge: A tribute to Christ

Rev Betty Furbert-Woolridge

BORN FOR OUR SALVATION

(Read Matthew 1:21)

THOUGHT: Today we ought to especially choose to acknowledge that Christmas is about Christ.

Today ought to be fully lifted up and dedicated to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; a lifting up and dedication which goes beyond what we do each day.

Almost universally this day we acknowledge as Jesus’ birthday, truly, truly a divine and important event in the life of a Christian.

Even with the credit cards being overcharged, despite the excessive overspending and continued under caring, beyond the many human emotions attached to the price tags of the Christmas gifts — this is Jesus’ birthday and He ought to be praised and honoured today.

On this Christmas Day our hearts and homes ought to be filled with true love.

The ringing bells ought to be pealing out the glory of His story. We ought to be remembering the spirit of Holiness which this day, made Him the incarnate deliverer we so badly needed. This day, our all in all should be so humbly submitted to acknowledging that without Him this misused and commercially abused day would mean absolutely nothing.

He was born for our Salvation. We need to then live to His edification. Thank You, Jesus — Merry Christmas.

PRAYER: God our Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest gift in the history of mankind, In His name, Sweet Jesus, we pray. Amen
